About Me
Jonathan “Jon” Harris is a proud U.S. Army veteran, technology professional, husband, and father who has dedicated his life to service — both in uniform and in his community. Being raised in a military family, Jon grew up with a deep respect for discipline, duty, and country. That sense of purpose led him to enlist in the Army at just 20 years old, beginning a career that would span nearly two decades across active duty and reserve service.
Today, Jon lives in Riverview, Florida, with his wife Jessica and their two daughters, Jade and Jacqueline. He continues to serve his nation as a Warrant Officer in the U.S. Army Reserve while working as a Senior Information Security Advisor supporting U.S. Special Operations Command.
Jon’s life and career have been guided by one principle — service before self. Now, he’s ready to bring that same commitment, integrity, and accountability to Washington as a candidate for Congress.
My Story
Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, and adopted by a Navy family, Jon Harris grew up surrounded by the values of service and sacrifice. In 2006, he answered the call to serve by joining the U.S. Army as an Infantryman. Deployed to Iraq with the 101st Airborne Division, Jon earned the Combat Infantryman Badge and Army Achievement Medal for his actions in combat.

After leaving active duty, Jon continued his service in the Army Reserve, retraining as an Information Technology Specialist. His leadership and technical expertise led to deployments in Afghanistan, Qatar, and Kuwait — supporting missions across the Middle East and earning multiple promotions, culminating in his current rank of Chief Warrant Officer 2 (CW2).

Outside the military, Jon built a successful civilian career in cybersecurity and information technology, working with major organizations like Raymond James Financial and ARMA Global. His professional focus on protecting systems and information translates directly into his vision for protecting American interests, veterans, and working families.

Through hard work, education, and perseverance — earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology & Management with a focus in Database Analytics and Cybersecurity — Jon embodies the spirit of dedication that defines the American dream. His story is one of discipline, service, and a belief that integrity still matters in leadership.

Why I'm Running
Jon Harris is running for Congress because he believes our government has lost touch with the people it was created to serve. Congress, once the cornerstone of American democracy, has become stagnant, partisan, and ineffective.
Jon has watched as critical issues like healthcare affordability, veterans’ care, and government spending are kicked down the road year after year, while elected officials focus more on party politics than real solutions. He’s running to change that.
Inspired years ago by seeing Barack Obama’s historic election, and the hope it brought for what’s possible in America, Jon now wants to restore that same faith in government. He believes Congress can and should do better for the American people by working together, passing meaningful legislation, and putting country before party.
His priorities are clear:
-
Strengthen veterans’ benefits and ensure that those who served our nation receive the care and respect they deserve.
-
Make healthcare affordable and accessible for every American.
-
Reduce reckless government spending and invest in America’s economic future.
-
Promote accountability and transparency in Washington.
-
Pass legislation to solve Social Security insolvency.
-
Develop a bipartisan plan of action to reduce the National Debt.
Jon Harris is not running for a party — he’s running for the people. It’s time to rebuild Congress into the branch of government that represents us again.
