About Jon
Jon Harris is a devoted husband and father, a combat veteran, and a US Army officer. I have spent nearly two decades living by one principle: service before self, and now I’m ready to take that commitment to Congress.
A Record of Service
Being raised in a military family, I grew up with a deep respect for discipline, duty, and country. That sense of purpose led me to enlist in the Army at just 20 years old, beginning a career that has spanned nearly two decades across active duty and reserve service.
Today, I live in Riverview, Florida, with my wife, Jessica, and our two daughters, Jade and Jacqueline. I continue serving as a Warrant Officer in the US Army Reserve while working as a Senior Information Security Advisor supporting US Special Operations Command.
My life and career have been guided by one principle: service before self. Now, I’m ready to bring that same commitment, integrity, and accountability to Washington as a Congressional Candidate.
A Career Forged by Duty & Sacrifice
Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, and adopted by a Navy family, I grew up surrounded by the values of service and sacrifice. In 2006, I answered the call to serve by joining the US Army as an Infantryman. Deployed to Iraq with the 101st Airborne Division, I earned the Combat Infantryman Badge and Army Achievement Medal for my actions in combat.
After leaving active duty, I continued my service in the Army Reserve, retraining as an Information Technology Specialist. My leadership and technical expertise led to deployments in Afghanistan, Qatar, and Kuwait, supporting missions across the Middle East and earning multiple promotions, culminating in my current rank of Chief Warrant Officer 2 (CW2).
Outside the military, I built a successful civilian career in cybersecurity and information technology, working with major organizations like Raymond James Financial and ARMA Global. My professional focus on protecting systems and information translates directly into my vision for protecting American interests, veterans, and working families.
Through hard work, education, and perseverance, I earned a Bachelor’s in Information Technology and Management with a focus in Database Analytics and Cybersecurity, embodying the spirit of dedication that defines the American Dream. My story is one of discipline, service, and a belief that integrity still matters in leadership.
